Some MITS people talk of the day "the suits" from Los Angeles showed up in Albuquerque.
I moved to Los Angeles and bought this tie. Los Angeles turned out to be Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley. That is where MITS engineering moved and combined with Icom to form PCC Microsystems Division. The Peripherals Division was nearby. I bought the tie at corporate headquarters in Marina Del Rey/Culver City. That is where Pertec acquired CMC. Acquisitions made a peripheral manufacturer and a field service organization into a computer company.
